I diligently study the latest in building science practices to ensure that my clients’ homes are as functional as they are beautiful.

I also believe that homes have an energy, which they acquire during the building process. This begins with how I work with my subcontractors. I prioritize their safety and comfort. I respect their craft. I communicate carefully and consistently with them so as to set them up for success when they are on site.

Feels different.
A carefully crafted home has a visceral impact on those who occupy and visit it. I have spent my career creating spaces that dilate pupils and inspire a deep, calming inhale. I have learned to apply the resources available to the project to maximize how the home feels during construction, on the day the client moves in, for years following.

Who is Nelson?
I’m a father and a husband in training. I am also an accomplished, and passionate home builder. I have always loved building but I love my work more today than I ever have.

I built my first treehouse in New Orleans when I was 10. I was mentored by three generous and successful high-end general contractors from the ages of 15 to 39. I majored in Spanish and Theater at Sewanee, building sets and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. I worked on dozens of projects for Regele Builders in NYC in every conceivable capacity and I just completed a great run with Crowell Builders in Austin.

From broom pusher, to estimator and project manager, I’ve held just about every position involved in the process of building a high-end custom home. I am fluent in Spanish and conversant in Architect. I have the experience to run my own business with confidence in my value to clients in the high-end residential market.
